A: Moissanite is a real, lab-created gemstone (silicon carbide), originally discovered in a meteor crater. It is not a diamond simulant (like cubic zirconia). It has a hardness of 9.25 on the Mohs scale (diamonds are 10), making it highly durable for daily wear. Most importantly, Moissanite has a higher refractive index than diamonds, meaning it actually sparkles with more fire and brilliance than a natural diamond, at a fraction of the cost.

By itself, silver can naturally tarnish over time when exposed to air. However, at DailyShining, we go the extra mile: Every S925 silver ring is finished with a high-quality Rhodium or Platinum plating (depending on the style). This rare, precious metal plating creates a protective barrier against air and sweat, ensuring:

• No green fingers (hypoallergenic, nickel-free, and lead-free).

• Long-lasting mirror shine that looks exactly like white gold or platinum.
  (Note: Even with plating, we recommend removing jewelry when swimming or applying heavy lotions to maximize its lifespan.)

A: Caring for your DailyShining ring is simple:

1. Gentle Wash: Mix a drop of mild dish soap with warm water.

2. Soft Brush: Use a soft-bristled baby toothbrush to gently clean around the gemstones and under the settings to remove skin oils.

3. Rinse & Dry: Rinse with clean water and pat dry immediately with a soft, lint-free microfiber cloth.

4. Avoid: Never use abrasive cleaners, chlorine, or harsh chemicals. For our natural gemstone rings, avoid ultrasonic cleaners, as the vibrations can loosen the smaller pave stones in our asymmetrical designs.

Q7: Can I wear my ring in the shower or while swimming?
A: We strongly recommend removing your ring before showering, swimming, or using hand sanitizer. Chlorine, salt water, and harsh soaps can slowly degrade the rhodium/platinum plating on the S925 silver and dull the natural gemstones.
